About the Event

Art by the Sea is our signature festival- a vibrant, exciting beachside celebration that brings youth, families, and communities together to explore, connect, and create. Set against the stunning backdrop of South Florida’s coastline, this immersive FREE event invites young people to play, create ocean-inspired art and videos, share stories, and deepen their relationship with the sea.

For many young attendees, even those raised in Miami or South Florida, this is their first chance to experience the ocean up close.

More than just a day outdoors, Art by the Sea is a portal to environmental awareness, scientific discovery, and artistic empowerment. It sparks wonder, fosters stewardship, and helps ignite a lifelong passion for protecting our most precious resource: the oceans.

Art by the Sea in St. Croix

This installation showed just how art can translate science into emotional connection. Youth, marine scientists, and artists came together to create public works that moved hearts and raised environmental awareness.

Discovering the Ocean in Our Own Backyard

Even for locals, the magic of the ocean can feel distant. The 2018 Art by the Sea Festival at Historic Virginia Key Beach Park changed that, offering young people and their families a day filled with hands-on ocean discovery, creativity, and community connection.

Now, after a few years of growth and innovation, Art by the Sea returns in 2025; bigger, bolder, and more impactful than ever. Expect exciting new collaborations, immersive storytelling experiences, and expanded opportunities for youth leadership in shaping a cleaner, more equitable ocean future. Stay tuned for the next wave!
