From scuba divers to students, authors to activists, the Big Blue Crew is a community of worldwide advocates who are passionate about inspiring others to protect the sea.

In 2021, Mayor Dan Gelber declared September 30th will forever be celebrated as Big Blue Crew Day in Miami Beach!

The Big Blue Crew is now a tiered program that grows with you. Each tier builds on the last, giving you the chance to sharpen your skills, create impact, and expand your leadership in ocean conservation and creative advocacy.

How It Works

  • Tier 1

    For those who want to build their digital voice and boost their confidence in sharing stories.

    What you’ll do:
    • Learn the essentials of social media literacy and content creation.
    • Connect with your peers and collaborate on shared projects.
    • Develop and refine your storytelling skills to inspire others.

  • Tier 2

    For those ready to move from digital to real-world impact through events and outreach.

    What you’ll do:
    • Build event planning and management skills.
    • Learn to connect art, conservation, and community engagement.
    • Strengthen your local presence while representing Big Blue & You.

  • Tier 3

    For those ready to take charge, mentor others, and lead major conservation efforts.

    What you’ll do:
    • Design and run large-scale creative conservation projects.
    • Mentor new Crew members and support their growth.
    • Expand our reach by organizing satellite Art by the Sea events.
