Brand Auditing & International Coastal Cleanup
Holding Polluters Accountable, One Beach at a Time
Each year, Big Blue & You teams up with the Ocean Conservancy’s International Coastal Cleanup, a global movement that has engaged millions of volunteers over the last 35+ years to remove litter from beaches and waterways. But in Miami, we do more than just clean up. We dig deeper.
Our cleanups include Brand Audits, where community volunteers collect data on the types and brands of plastic waste found. This crucial information feeds into the Break Free From Plastic global database, helping to expose the corporations most responsible for plastic pollution and drive policy change.
Why Does It Matter?
To solve the root of the problem, we need to understand where the pollution comes from. In past audits, brands like Coca-Cola and Nestlé have been named among the world’s top plastic polluters; evidence that real change must come from the top. Our data supports global research and policy efforts, pressures companies to reduce single-use plastic production, empowers youth to become informed environmental advocates

Art for Action: Mail Your Message Today
In addition to our on-the-ground cleanup, we invite you to take action with your voice AND your art. Write and decorate a postcard urging Florida lawmakers to support the Break Free From Plastic Act, a piece of legislation that addresses plastic pollution at its source.
Download your postcard, decorate it, and then mail it to your representative.
